Price guide
Refit prices in Cork
Typical prices for bathroom work in Cork, from what jobs here cost. Your own price comes in writing, after the company has seen the room.
By bathroom
| Bathroom | Typical cost | What moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Refresh, same layout | €4,000 to €7,000 | A new suite, retiling and redecorating. The toilet, basin and shower stay where they are. |
| Small bathroom, 2 to 4 m² | €4,000 to €9,000 | How much is tiled, and whether the bath becomes a shower. |
| En-suite | €3,000 to €10,000 | Size, a tray or a level floor, and whether it's a redo or a new one. |
| Family bathroom, full renovation, 5 to 7 m² | €7,500 to €18,000 | A bath, a shower or both, tiles floor to ceiling, a new floor. |
| Bath out, walk-in shower in | €4,500 to €8,000 | The rest of the room stays. Moving the waste adds to it. |
| Wet room | €5,000 to €12,000 | Timber or concrete floor, where the drain goes, the tiles. |
| Accessible bathroom, level-access shower | €5,000 to €12,000 | Rails, a seat and the door width. Council grants can pay for most of it. |
| High-spec: wet room, underfloor heating, premium fittings | €14,000 to €22,000+ | Custom design and premium materials. No real ceiling. |
Where the money goes
| Part of the job | Typical cost | What moves the price |
|---|---|---|
| Plumbing upgrades | €800 to €2,000 | New pipework and valves where the old ones are tired. |
| Moving the layout: pipework alone | €500 to €1,500 | How far the toilet or shower moves, and through what. |
| Tiling labour, a m² | €35 to €60 | Floor to ceiling or the wet areas only, and the tile size. |
| Tiles, a m² | €10 to €100+ | Basic ceramic at the low end, stone or large porcelain at the top. |
| Toilet, basin, bath or shower (materials) | €1,200 to €3,000 | A mid-range suite. A close-coupled toilet alone is €200 to €400. |
| Electrics: lights, sockets, extractor fan | €400 to €900 | Always a Registered Electrical Contractor, with a completion certificate. |
| Waterproofing, on top | €200 to €400 | Tanking the wet areas. Small money that saves the ceiling below. |
| A fitter's day on the job | €250 to €450 | Most jobs are priced as a whole; this is what a day costs. |
Labour and materials together. Ask for the VAT to be shown on your written price: the council grants don't cover VAT.

Questions
Questions people ask us
What's the difference between a refit and a renovation?
A refresh keeps the layout and some of the room: a new suite, new tiles, maybe a new floor. A full renovation strips the room to the walls and the floor and starts again.
How much is a new bathroom in Cork?
€7,500 to €18,000 for a full family bathroom with the layout kept, and €14,000 to €22,000+ for a high-spec one with layout changes.
Can I keep the tiles and change the suite?
If the tiles are sound and the grout can be matched, yes. A bath or basin swap on its own is €350 to €700.
What should I get at the end?
The electrical completion certificate, the guarantees for the shower, the valve and the tanking, and a note of where the pipes run and where the isolating valves are.
